A party bus, as the name suggests, provides entertainment on wheels. You can rent a party bus to have a fully entertaining environment. You can drink alcohol, watch private dance or listen to loud music. A party bus can also be used for wedding service or to serve the purpose of airport shuttle. There are comfortable sofas in it with highly attractive interior designs. Modern limos are also used to serve this purpose.
These buses can accommodate as much as 40 people. These buses come with amazing VIP rooms and hardwood floors. These are popular among the foreigners as well as the locals. Party buses gained a lot of fame and started getting huge investments in the 90’s. Thus, it started growing as a business. These party buses were not under the supervision of government in the past but due to black marketing and illegal activities, the government started making rules and regulations. Now, Party buses are fully legalized and monitored. Thus, there are several set of rules and regulations that are made by the government. These rules vary from place to place.
Regulations on party buses in Chicago
Chicago has always been a popular tourist attraction. Therefore, the government has made some new regulations to better manage and handle these party buses. Here are some new regulations proposed by the government:
The Illinois Secretary of State office has employed 10 new investigators to manage the data such as vehicle license plate and driver license number to make sure there are no illegal party buses.
These investigators are given certain rights such that they can disqualify any party bus if they feel that the party bus owner is not following the set of rules proposed by the government.
A future plan of making “Party Bus Safety Task Force” is under discussion. This task force would be much beneficial to the government in providing the right information and getting the hidden news about the illegal activities going all around the city. The Party bus task force would also be responsible to present its report.
Some incidents of shooting have been reported a couple of years ago inside these party buses. New rules are adopted to ensure that the party buses are safe for the visitors.
Party bus owners would be heavily fined if they violate any ordinance. There could also be a threat of suspension or disqualification.
According to the new rule, if the bus stops at any licensed liquor store then the bus must have a licensed security guard boarded on it. This law was made due to increase in death of drunken passengers when they moved out of the party bus and got struck by a fast moving vehicle.
The insurance cost is increased for party buses as they must have security cameras and licensed security guard. These buses must also pass background security checks.
Security cameras must be installed on appropriate angles inside party buses to minimize the probability of any mishap.
The government is still in the phase of making new rules to decrease party bus related crimes.
It isn’t without controversy, as there has been some pushback. Just like Jeff Magnus, Chicago Party Bus operator, says: “We are licensed, and follow all the rules. These new regulations just take more money out of our pockets, because of the actions of others.”
